salty dog

she's back, life is good...  back in Cedar Key

yessss. we have a boat. and we're out on the open sea.
he's busy. fish are hungry...

hey.  i'm hungry, and i can't wait for fish...give me a doggy treat

we're happy to be warm...

he's fishin'.  i'm helping. btw who's steering?

look at this island.  i want to be shipwrecked.

see?  see the palms and the mangroves?

yes, Cap'n Rahhn.  this lagoon has my name on it.

call me Gilligan...

i smell a critter in these mangroves

yes. peaceful. serene. nature's coast of the gulf.  Glad To Be An American....and even happier to have a boat.

of course he's on the phone in paradise.

missing 'leeen

i missed watching Clare pick fiddle ferns and making red tea...

i missed True climbing really high in the trees along the path...

i really missed chasing Sugar. her young humans would have protected her, but i could've had a good time trying...

i missed the similar shoes...
the similar hats...
i missed writing with our toes...

soccer with Unkie...

and running the beach on an early morning with the three T's...

i really don't like to miss a breakfast like this one!

and even live music...  i'm a good listener and toe tapper.                                     i missed a lot, but mostly i missed her...can't wait till summer when i get to go too!

cedar key to happiness...

feels like home...

it's a jungle out there on the natural coast of florida

life is a walk in the (RV) park, where at least two species thrive.

Captain Landlord Larry and Rahhn's   lonely but tasty spotted sea trout

Sassy and Bella, welcoming the fish
this fish appears smaller than it really is...

the nearby town of Cedar Key from one side...

and from the other...
because of this...

this is possible...

so close!

no shark music, please.

and this moment on an island is worth everything... except i'll tell you what's missing: Sassy, Bella, Kody, Kalee, Buffy, and of course Me.

who knew Florida has good air

ok. so next thing i know...Rahhhn finds that Texas air is full of fumes.  could it be the oil wells?  dunno. but all he has to do is sneeze, and we pack and go.  maybe it was the red tide. who knows.

one minute i was happy learning to be a bird watcher/chaser and next thing i knew... we were leaving!  cross the free ferry

where would they try?

i'm all about the journey.  i am a sight see-er.  i am On It!

sometimes a girl just hasta take a break and play with her toys.

oh no. you know what 'leeeen does when we have a crisis ahead.  cover my ears!!

it does look strange and the bus is tilting...  outer space?

cap'n Rahhhn is happy driving like it's Girard...

you know.  she's right. this thing is freaky. and we have to go through it. over it. under it. yikes.  it's weird, but the screaming is unnecessary.  someone find me ear plugs, pleeze...

oh yeahhh.   groovy.  i remember the white sands.  i am one with the powder...

and even at Fort Picken's National Park, i am a bird watcher.  i am a bird expert.  i know their every move, breath, let me go there!  i care.  my peeps won't let me do much about it, but i know i could.  these are nesters in a tree ruined by Katrina.  her mark is everywhere.  nevertheless, survivors survive.  look at me.

no..  look at this.  this is the sunset but not even on the beach.  i am not allowed on the beach (unlike Texas) and so i can't take pictures of the actual amazing sunset.  but as as seen from our campsite, it's still pretty awesome...

this is my windblown pout.  i'm learning   :)

strange holiday season at the beach...

a new place, a new year. we've been quiet while loved ones process pain, and we wait it out to see what's next. here at the big brown beach i try to get my peeps to walk and fish every day. some days i win and we go to the beach and i proceed to choke myself on whatever harness they've roped me into.  if Only i could get my freedom and frolic in the jellyfish wrack line, chase those shore birds and surf the waves!

ho hum...another day at the office

nice mix, a heron and a bull dozer. that's Texas.  i really want a bird.  seagull, piper, heron, and they won't even let me have a tern.

these beautiful beaching man'o wars really have my attention. they look like a lot of fun. i know i could pop one or bounce it in the air like a beach ball.  but the peeps totally freak out when i try to get close.
their tendrils are even longer in the water--they drape 20 feet from the body. on this beach they still have their sting

and i really, really want to Pop It!
look at the color!

dinner this day was sheepshead, sorry Charlie, but it was delicious

it's winter you know, and when the rain falls, the wind blows, the storm  threatens, the skies are angry, i let them stay indoors.  i ordered holiday cranberry muffins and lattes for all. i'm taking the picture, so you can't see mine. Happy New Year!!!
