by the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea...

here by the sea, my gang goes swimming every day IF we reach near 70 degrees.  when we do, it's totally awesome.
our gang. what a bunch of hams...

short walk to the beach. Gita goes too.

twins for the day

and by the sea, when it's too cold to swim we still find crabs. red rock crabs.
sorry guys, we love you for all the wrong reasons

i hope he doesn't turn toward me

uh oh, he got Clare, poor Clare!  can i help???

gives new meaning to "honey, could you bring me a beer?"
30 yards, honey, you can do it.

Tucker, the handsome seaside neighbor, is larger than life and i have to hide under things to keep him from accidentally stomping me. he's only playing, but his feet are as big as my head. and we both want to play. 'leeeen had to rescue me and carry me home yelping, but i'll go back for more.
you have to admit he's cute
uh oh. he has that gleam in his eye... come on, big boy

uncle! uncle! UncleTucker! stop!!!

and lately by the sea it's all about the boat. i got the girls to buff and shine a bit, and if the boys will just get it running properly, we'll go island hopping!

1976 Sea Ray, 26 feet of project.  but no worries, mate. i'm in charge.

and i'm popular with the workers too

when they're not looking, i practice. i'll totally wow them one day...

let's see.  there would be water all around, but i'd stay to the center, wait for the breeze, the wave, yesss i can do this
Dude. i'd catch air, i am ready. if they would take this leash off i could show them a thing or two....

Miss Clare Can Knit

this place has not only two big black dogs, but it has two cats, Sugar and Cocoa, and they are more my size than the canines.

i want them. i want the felines.  i don't know what i want them for, but i really, really want them.
summer fun
happiness is a cat with a knitted collar
once in a while i get near the felines, but they suddenly puff up and morph into small tigers and hissss me back into position. i can live with this. occasionally we call a truce and all sit on the deck together hoping for food.  their food is even better than Zeke and Gita's.

anyway, Clare apparently has many talents, and one of them is knitting.  she's a crafty girl. Aunt Mary gave Clare some knitting needles and they've recently been put back to work.  lazy summer day = lucky cat.

talk about vanity...

hey. where's my knitted collar?  couldn't someone make me something beautiful?  all i get to wear are these strait jackets and dog tags and choking collars.  hint. hint...

yippeee i got away

well
oops.  i ran into the woods.  un escorted at last.  do i regret it?    NO.      but it did have a down side.  do you see these burrrs?  well, getting them pulled out is no picnic.   i don't care.  i'd do it again.  i may if they turn their back or take the strait jacket off.

small price to pay for freedom.  i rather think they look like jewels....

pretty much better...

thanks for your concern, fans.  slowly i have come back from the terrors of insecticide poisoning.  never use Sergeants or Hartz.  my friends have stood by and applauded my recovery (team Bear, Payton, beloved Chequers and others), and i may just Be Back...  i have attitude again, my appetite is normal, i can walk, and talk, and type.  so here i am to report the days gone by.  there was the fourth of July, which remains a blur to me, but i remember kids.
April brought the goods and showed Clare how to make the Coolest Red White and Blue Skewers for dessert. Strawberries, little Marshmallows and Blueberries...but how am i supposed to hold a skewer??
the Dad of this Place served the children, but what about me?

swingin' girl

Gemma is a big fan of mine, so i watched her swing

hoola girl
and hoola hoop

at last the Famous Uncle Norm and his tribe came to visit

Uncle Norm and Emmm
is it my Idol's hero????  Sacajawea?  or is it Olivia????  wow. she's saving all the children.  she's 'leeeeen's God Daughter.  sounds pretty special to me.  plus, if i were allowed on the beach i'm sure she'd save me too.

well, fantasy aside, The Dad of This Place had a broken widget in his paw, which looked as inflated as those water balloons the kids were playing with.    'leeeen says he's always been this way. he goes away, has fun, and comes back hurt. but he says it's worth it...

the fourth of july has a downside. darkening skies.  the bombs bursting in air....  my peeps went down to the beach to applaud a bunch of activity.  i hid under a blanket.

when Raaahn Finally came back, i could relax.
