the repaired door slams really tight, darn. rahhhn's hands are lacerated and he won't pet me any more, darn.

at least today we went for a walk before they left.  only a mile or two, and i have to pull them along the entire path. they can't seem to keep up with me, so it was up to me to drag them clear from the campsite along the old defunct railroad walking path to the town itself, across the cedar river old railroad bridge where i can still smell the hobo camps.  this Charles City has a lot to offer. along the river there's evidence of geese and ducks--my cup of tea!

no sooner had we returned from our walk than they did the "you're a dog. we're the people..." routine, and off they went.  since their return 'leeen has been singing "little brown church in the vale" and apparently (i wasn't raised Prostestant so i don't know for sure), they visited the actual site and went into the quaint church where rahhhn gave a sermon.  i'd have to see it to believe it.

and they've been raving all afternoon about the county museum (one of the ten best in the nation) and its old drugstore, authentic log cabin, miniature railroad, hart-parr oliver tractors.  whatever.

they finally returned and we did a photo shoot by the river, and 'leeen kept forcing me to drop the goose poop (she has no idea what a delicacy...).

it looks like it's on to Austin, Mn and westward ho tomorrow.  note: we did spring some sort of leak in our plumbing under the bus, so maybe we'll have another repair stop somewhere in south dakota.  it's all the same to me :)
